I’ve been very, very lucky. I’ve never had a fire or other emergency in the places I’ve lived (and that’s many). Knock on wood. But it’s no excuse for how long it took me to get a Pet Emergency Sticker in my window here.
They’re so cheap and easy to apply. You can get them at –
Petco or Amazon or eBay or a billion places online.
The CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) recommends Pet Emergency Stickers. And many fire departments do. It’s not a guarantee but gives your pet a good chance of being rescued.
Make sure you enter or write in the number of dogs, cats, etc. so the emergency crew knows how many to look for. The stickers that stick inside are the best so you don’t have to worry about the weather damaging them.
And make sure that if, in the case of an emergency, you and your pet get out safely that you let any emergency people know that all of you are safe.
